The Christchurch earthquake caused more than just physical damage to the existing Show Place fit-out—it also highlighted a major challenge: staff numbers had more than doubled, far exceeding the building’s original design capacity.
What began as a simple repair project quickly grew into a full-scale upgrade. The work included a complete architectural fit-out and a comprehensive overhaul of the building’s services. To manage this without disrupting day-to-day operations, one floor was temporarily relocated while the rest of the work was carefully staged into seven segments: six office floors plus a redesigned cafeteria.
Over the course of 12 months, all 6,500m² of the building was rebuilt. The upgrade added 16 new meeting rooms, expanded staff facilities, and introduced a smart Building Management System (BMS) to monitor and optimise energy efficiency. The result is a modern, resilient, and future-ready workplace that supports both the staff and the organisation’s evolving needs.
Their technical knowledge, relationship management and communication skills are excellent and their attention to detail brings peace of mind for us and sets them apart from their peers.
