Delivered through an integrated fit-out, this project transforms a large, flexible floor plate into a modern, collaborative workplace. The space encourages teamwork and supports Inland Revenue’s ongoing business transformation.
The First Floor hosts a welcoming front-of-house for customer enquiries, with secure interview and seminar rooms that staff can also use for internal meetings. The Second Floor features a bright, airy staff cafeteria overlooking a large atrium and the floor below.
The central atrium stair presented a unique opportunity to celebrate the strong regional Māori context. Designed to symbolize a waka, the stair reflects the movement of people through the building and connects the floors while embedding cultural meaning into the heart of the workplace.
Both floors offer a variety of meeting rooms, quiet focus spaces, and a reconfigurable area for up to 90 people. With movable walls and flexible furniture, spaces can easily adapt to meetings, training, or larger events—making the office as dynamic as the teams who work there.
Māori Network members have been overwhelmed by the sensitivity shown by the Architect to accommodate all the taonga.
