A long awaited fitout for an important regional centre, Pelorus began the project by fully reviewing and tailoring the all-of-government Building Performance Specification to fit Inland Revenue’s needs.

The chosen building meets an Importance Level 4 rating because it is shared with the Regional Council’s emergency operations team. This higher standard gives Inland Revenue strong business continuity benefits for their lower North Island operations.

A small number of meeting rooms and quiet rooms are provided, supported by flexible, furniture-based collaboration areas. Future adaptability has been a major focus of the design. Suspended acoustic screens can be easily moved or removed as needs change, helping the workspace evolve over time.

To encourage alternative transport, IR staff will have dedicated bike parking, lockers, and showers on the ground floor. The building is also future-ready with infrastructure in place for EV charging stations.

Pelorus Architecture has met or exceeded our deliverable requirements.
